While Boston’s historic 15-game winning streak came to an end this week, the team’s 4-2 record on the week solidified its playoff odds and pushed the team into even stronger territory as trade deadline buyers. This position was verified on Sunday, as the team dealt away from its rotation depth, moving currently-injured Connelly Early, to bolster its infield group by acquiring Curtis Mead. The possibility of Boston adding to its infield was mentioned in this space last week, and the team may not be done adding to its infield, as rumors still prevail about the team targeting a shortstop addition. 

Another position where Boston could look to add a bat is at catcher, where the team’s backstops have combined for 0.3 WAR...
