DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: NL West—Cabrera lands on disabled list

As mentioned in a recent Playing Time column, Everth Cabrera (SS, SD) has landed on the disabled list after straining his left hamstring. There's been no announcement as far as his return date goes, but while it doesn't appear to be a major injury, look for the team to play it safe with a player that relies so heavily on his legs. Pedro Ciriaco (SS, SD) has gotten three of the four starts to this point with Cabrera out, and is likely to be the main beneficiary. His 149 Spd score and 16 steals in 259 at-bats in 2012 show what he's capable of on the bases. But he'll need to show more before we see his six unintentional walks to date as growth, rather than a small sample size fluke.
