DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: AL West—Angels lose Pujols

The news that Albert Pujols (DH, LAA) has likely played his last game in 2013 has minimal impact on the Angels’ playoff chances. Through Sunday, they were the eleventh seed in the AL and 8.5 games out of the Wild Card. However, Pujols’ exit might be the embarkation point of Mike Trout’s (OF, LAA) career as the team’s number three hitter.

This past off-season, Trout may have evoked the most spirited debates in fantasy baseball history, and with 2013 almost two-thirds over, the differences in his BPIs from last year to this are nearly indistinguishable.
