DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: AL West—The Rangers CF battle

From all reports, Leonys Martin (OF, TEX) will be given a legitimate shot at winning the TEX CF job—or at least the bulk of the Rangers CF innings. Martin's second season at AAA-Round Rock was interrupted by a torn ligament and a bench stint with the Rangers that virtually de-activated him for half the season. But Martin's .359/.422/.610 line with 24 BB and 12 HR over 231 AB at Triple-A suggests why the Rangers are high on him. A left-handed hitter who brings plus defense, Martin's good speed has not yet translated into a productive running game, but it's potentially just a tick away. 

But Martin's .174 BA in a 46 AB trial with the Rangers reminds us that his ascent is neither certain nor immediate. His primary...
