DIVISIONAL OUTLOOK: AL Central—Peralta and Infante to leave Detroit?

Both Jhonny Peralta (SS, DET) and Omar Infante (2B, DET) will be free agents this winter. With the emergence of José Iglesias (SS/3B, DET), the Tigers are not likely to pursue Peralta, especially in light of his suspension for involvement in the Biogenesis case. The Tigers would like to re-sign Infante who may be the best middle infielder after Robinson Canó (2B, NYY) in the market this winter. As of this week, Infante would be third in the AL batting race with a .325 average if he had enough AB to qualify. If Infante were to leave the Tigers would consider turning to Hernán Pérez (2B, DET), but they would prefer to give him more time to develop because he has only had about 125 AB above Double-A.
