The Astros have been searching for a regular second baseman all season. Their usual second baseman, Jose Altuve, has been in left field with the occasional game at second base, while Brendan Rodgers started the season at 2B but now shares the position with Mauricio Dubón. Between Rodgers, Dubón, and occasionally Altuve, the Astros have been getting next to no offensive production at 2B, and they may need a change.
On the season, Rodgers is hitting .198 with one home run while striking out 37.7% of the time. The strikeout rate and batting average are both Rodgers' worst over the last five seasons.
