AL West: Trout's return looms

Mike Trout may finally return to the Angels this season. He has been rehabbing his knee injury for a few months and began a rehab assignment this week, though lingering soreness sent him back to LA for additional evaluation. But at some point Trout will back, and some other player must be the odd man out. The outfield situation for the Angels comes down to Mickey Moniak, the primary centerfielder with Trout out, and Kevin Pillar

Moniak is only hitting .206 on the season with six home runs and six stolen bases. He has been hitting better in July, with a .250 batting average and two home runs. Moniak has struck out 18.4% of the time in July, which is much better than his season strikeout rate of 27%.
