Two weeks ago in this space, we examined the Rays’ late-inning picture, noting that Griffin Jax was not a prominent part of the team’s closing picture despite being tabbed as the most likely candidate to close games by fantasy drafters. While Jax has continued to be not part of the closing picture since that writing, as Bryan Baker has continued to garner the bulk of save opportunities, a recent shift in Jax’s usage over the weekend suggests he could have another path to fantasy viability.
