AL Central: Meidroth nearing return

Chase Meidroth hit on the field prior to Tuesday's game and appears to be nearing a return. He is eligible to come off the IL Friday, and though it's not yet clear if he'll be ready by then, his absence shouldn't extend much longer. Meidroth should see plenty of action in the middle infield spots the rest of the way, and his 11 SB in 349 PA show he's capable of providing a speed boost down the stretch.

With Miguel Vargas also returning this past week, the infield will be a little more crowded. The red-hot Colson Montgomery certainly isn't coming out of the lineup, but he may get some starts at third base after being a regular at shortstop the past couple of weeks.
