NEWS: The A’s placed OF Brent Rooker on the 10-day IL with a right oblique strain and recalled 2B Zack Gelof from the minors.

BHQ SPIN: Oblique strains can be tough to recover from, so expect Rooker to miss more than the minimum time with this IL stint. Carlos Cortes will shift from backing up in the outfield to being on the strong side of a DH platoon with his expected platoon partner being Andy Ibáñez.
