DAILY MATCHUPS: What's left in the tank

As a way to preview the day's games, the 2014 Daily Matchups column seeks to highlight the outliers or notable matchups on the HQ Pitcher Matchup tool (also available as an 8-day scan). For more information on how to leverage the report, see our research article from 2012.

Today’s schedule overview:  A full complement of seven American League games, seven National League games and one interleague tilt (BAL at CHC) is on tap for Sunday. A large number of hitter’s parks are in play in the afternoon. The night game is LAA at OAK, and that one figures as a help for the hurlers. An all-lefty, all-Chris matchup (Sale vs. Capuano) features the day’s two highest rated starters. Sale is rated a 2.97; Capuano is tagged with a 2.50.
