Like it or not, Major League Baseball will have new rules in 2023. From a fantasy perspective, there are three main ways the new rules might influence our game. Let’s examine each of these while considering different ways to address them.

No matter what anyone tells you, the actual outcomes of the rules are ambiguous. Baseball is a game built around uncertainty, random chance, and fashion. Players and teams often make suboptimal choices because other teams and players have succeeded making those same choices. No amount of subtle rule adjustment will change these basic truths.
