Value Targets in Points Leagues

Points leagues draw their appeal from their simplicity. Watching a game, you can quickly know your guy scored a point with a strikeout, hit, run scored or RBI. While many complicate their scoring systems, sometimes easier is better. We base our picks on the NFBC Diamond Challenge: one point for each total base, run scored, run batted in, and walk. They award two points per stolen base. For pitchers, they award ten points for a win or save, one point for each strikeout and inning pitched. They utilize a salary cap so we note the best bargains as this cap often reflects the market’s perception of a player. That way this article helps you target bargains in their competition and your own league.
