KEEPERS: The Deep league prospecting primer

Sometimes an early March spring training road trip is the perfect catalyst for some fantasy reflection, particularly while being able to watch outstanding new talent like Fernando Tatis (SS, SD), A.J. Puk (RHP, OAK), Shohei Ohtani (P/DH, LAA), etc. make their MLB camp debuts. One of big allures of deep-league keeper and dynasty formats is being able to observe, research, select and “develop” minor-leaguers, sometimes well in advance of their MLB debuts. It’s almost axiomatic that your deep league’s most consistently successful prospect pickers are those with teams consistently at or near the top of the standings.
