How BABS asset groups uncover profit in 2026

The BABS Project ebook (free PDF on this page) explains how each player’s talent profile groups them with others of similar skills, called “asset groups.” These groups describe skills broadly, allowing for normal statistical variation. You might think a player with 35 home runs is better than one with 30, but it could just be five errant gusts of wind. We can’t forecast with that level of statistical precision. In the end, both players could be essentially the same. 

The marketplace has its own method of assessing talent. A value is assigned to each player based on some general criteria. In approximate order of importance, more or less:

  • Performance history, highly influenced by the most recent performance
  • Health history and...
