LINEUPS OUTLOOK: Phillies bats, Whit leading-off and hitting streams

Small sample sizes can be manipulated for research purposes in almost any circumstance, and tracking lineups falls into this trap. Predicting a boost in counting statistics based on moving up the lineup, or suggesting a dip, may happen when a player's slump results in moving down the batting order can be low hanging fruit. However, with pressure mounting ahead of the stretch run leading towards postseason, outcomes matter, and it may affect two players differently in Philadelphia. In Toronto, losing it's shortstop and mainstay near the top of the lineup makes things more difficult, but one player may take over atop the lineup, increasing his fantasy allure.
