For the past several years, we have alerted you that first basemen get scarce quickly, with many looking at this position to fill corner infield and designated hitter spots.  That creates scarcity despite talent depth. In 2012, however, fewer reliable first basemen exist than ever.  This means you need to select your first baseman early to ensure reliable production to anchor your squad.
