Elian Pena and Emilio Obispo

We are focusing on the Mets St. Lucie team this week, in Low A, where they do not have much in the way in big names, other than a huge bonus recent international signing. The Mets have a talented system, but most of their best prospects are above the Low A level.

Elian Peña (SS, New York Mets, 18 years old)

Elian Peña is the big prospect on this team, a LHH infielder who signed in 2025 out of the Dominican Republic for $5 million, the second largest signing bonus in that 2025 international class. Peña is firmly built, at a thick 5’10” 180 pounds listed, with clear room to add weight as he grows, possibly taking him off SS.
