MINORS: Teams to watch at Double-A and Triple-A, 2015

The minor league season is less than two weeks old, but there already have been some important developments. Top prospect Kris Byrant’s stay with the AAA-Iowa Cubs was predictably short. He played in just seven games, hitting a respectable .321/.364/.679 with three home runs in 28 AB. Ordinarily there isn’t a ton of talent at Triple-A, but this year some of the games top prospects start the year just a step away from the majors. For intsance, Cuban import Rusney Castillo of the Red Sox could be in the majors by mid-season. As is frequently the case, the most exciting talent tends to be congregated at Double-A, and the Frisco Rough Riders, Trenton Thunder, Tennessee Smokies, Chattanooga Lookouts, and New Britain Rock Cats have more elite...
