MINORS: Struggling Prospects

Highly-touted prospects who fail to put up consistently stellar numbers are always a problem for fantasy owners, who typically have little interest in waiting for a player to develop. On the other hand, no one wants to be the owner who gave up too early on Julio Teheran, Didi Gregorius, or Nick Franklin—all of whom had lackluster stints while in the minors. 

Prospects, even extremely talented prospects, struggle for a variety of reasons. In some cases players need to make adjustments in certain aspects of their game. Making adjustments, or even admitting the need to make adjustments, can be a difficult—even traumatic—experience for young athletes who have typically been the best player on the field.
