A year ago BaseballHQ.com published an article about how to find good minor league talent before they make Top 100 lists. The methodology uses statistics found from online sources (such as Baseball-Reference.com that provides leader boards for Minor League Batters and Pitchers) and then extracting the results to a spreadsheet and sorting on batter or pitcher skills (BB%, K%, etc.). The article received positive feedback, along with some questions to consider. This article will address some of those questions, provide additional thoughts on the development of the methodology, and conclude with a list of minor leaguers who have popped onto our radars this season.
