MINORS: The Eyes Have It—Edward Cabrera & prospect notes

When the season started, I expected video scouting to be supplemental to my work at the park. I didn’t expect it to become a large part of my overall coverage in this column and on the podcast. As I said earlier this year, video fills in about 80% of the scouting story, even more if you happen upon one of the 16 feeds with mph included on the telecast. I also seek out contacts who have seen these kids in person, making sure I haven’t missed anything significant by not being there. This has enabled me to expand my coverage to teams and leagues I’ll likely never see live. Thanks to MILB.tv, enjoy scouting reports on Edward Cabrera (RHP, MIA) today, and on Thursday, Orelvis Martinez (SS, TOR) and Nick...
