We have officially transitioned from April to May, the point in the baseball season when things start to feel real, even if they often are not. As we move out of the month that makes Fools out of baseball analysts into a month where things May start to be real (not sorry for the puns), we thought it would be a good idea to investigate some early pitching data for minor leaguers to see if we could spot any significant changes. As a reminder, minor league Statcast data is now available in Baseball Savant (for AAA and A ball only, sadly) and can be found at the link provided.
