Kelvin Herrera (RHP, KC)
Upon conclusion of the Triple-A championship, the Royals recalled the 21-year-old. Herrera was converted to a reliever in '11 and was exceptional on three levels. He was selected for the Futures Game and was among the most unheralded prospects in the game. He consistently shows outstanding control and deception. Only 5'11" 175 pounds, Herrera creates above average sinking action on his 90-96 mph fastball. He is a groundballer who can get hitters to swing and miss at his power slider. In addition to his fastball/slider combination, he possesses a solid-average changeup that keeps hitters off-guard. Herrera may lack typical size to be a closer, but he has the tenacity and pitch mix to pitch in...
