SPECULATOR: A Walk through the PQS logs, 2016

As many of you know, we adjusted our Pure Quality Start system for 2016, as a way to better identify outstanding pitching performances in accordance with the increased effectiveness of starters. During the season, all PQS data is collected as part of our Leading Indicators page, where one can scan the entire league at at time (this data is also available on each player’s PlayerLink page). In both places, one of the more interesting features is the rolling 5-start (R5S) numbers. The R5S figures averages what the pitcher has done over his past five starts in Ctl, Dom, pitch count, PQS and ERA. Focusing in on those R5S...
