2025 Rookie Class Check-in, Part 2

Two weeks ago, we did a 2025 rookie class check-in, going over what we've seen from the Top 30 prospects and speculating on how their long-term outlook has changed. We're continuing that exercise this week, finishing out most of the Top 100 for any prospect that's seen notable MLB time this year.

Same format as last time. Let's get to it; presented in HQ100 order:

Colson Montgomery | #32 on the 2025 HQ100
What we've seen: A home-run barrage in short order, as Montgomery has 10 HR in a three-week span starting in mid-July. Montgomery was called up on July 4 after slashing a lackluster .215/.295/.416, and while the low batting average has carried over to the majors, Montgomery has been a recent boon in the power department.
