DR HQ: The xDL class, 2013

Now that September is upon us, one of the biggest hurdles a contending fantasy owners has is managing injuries for key players. Major league teams rarely place a player on the DL in September. This last edition of Dr. HQ will focus on a handful of key players and when we might see them return in September. In this column we will use a term I’ve used before in this space and in the Baseball Forecaster – xDL. It is a projection of how long the player will be out IF it were before September 1.

Miguel Cabrera (3B, DET)
Injury: Lower abdominal injury. We have been getting mixed messages regarding his ailment. At first it seemed like strained groin, then it was reported it was a lower abdominal injury. It sounds like a sports hernia, though...
