DR HQ: Updates on Stanton, Gordon, plus Buchholz, Montero analysis

Rehab Update:

Giancarlo Stanton (OF, MIA)
Injury: Recovery from surgery to remove the hamate bone from his left hand.
Rehab Update: The initial projection had Stanton missing roughly six weeks. Six weeks will be the first weekend in August, and that appears to be a base case scenario. He won’t start dry swings (swinging without a baseball) until July 25-27 and still needs to show he can hit a baseball without any pain. A return in mid-August now appears more likely.

Miguel Montero (C, CHC)
Injury: Sprained left thumb
DL date: Retro July 12
Estimated DL time: Montero is being treated for roughly two weeks, and then he’ll be re-evaluated. The current estimation is he’ll be out at least six weeks, though that could...
