Estimated DL time: Conventional wisdom indicates he is done for the year. If a couple of weeks allows it to heal enough that he could DH, he could return in September, though that is a long shot right now.
Estimated 2013 effect upon return: Restricted playing time if he does return in 2013.

Injury: Fractured hamate bone, left hand
DL date: July 26
Estimated DL time: He’ll have surgery early next week and is expected to mix roughly six weeks.
