Estimated DL time: The team believes he has ligament damage and considering surgery. Almost assured of being out for the year.
Max Stassi (C, HOU)
Injury: Concussion
DL date: August 22
Estimated DL time: The concussion DL is only seven days but he will need at least double that time to return behind the plate. How much he plays the rest of this year depends on his post concussion syndrome symptoms. If they linger the Astros may just shut him down for the year.
Estimated 2013 effect upon return: Unknown.
Derek Norris (C, OAK)
Injury: Fractured big toe, left foot
DL date: August 21
Estimated DL time: The A’s think he’ll return in September.
