Miguel Cabrera (1B, DET) – Back, herniated disks (9/23/17)
His season isn’t over officially, but with the Tigers out of the race, it would be surprising if he played again. This is an injury that can recur, making him a high risk for the future. As we saw with Alex Dickerson (OF, SD), it’s something that can potentially cost a player an entire season. That may seem dramatic, but it’s a non-trivial possibility.
