NEWS: The New York Yankees acquired RHP Devin Williams for LHP Nestor Cortes, infield prospect Caleb Durbin and $2 million in cash.
IMPACT: High 
BHQ SPIN: Williams should assume ninth-inning duties for the Yankees, bumping RHP Luke Weaver back to a setup role. New York clearly has faith that the back injury that cost Williams nearly four months of the 2024 season is behind him for good. When his health has permitted, Williams’ skills have been consistently elite. By trading Cortes, the Yankees have removed him from their rotation competition, though there are still just two spots for RHP Clarke Schmidt, RHP Luis Gil and RHP Marcus Stroman
