Shaw demotion opens up 3B job in Chicago

NEWS: Chicago optioned 3B Matt Shaw to AAA-Iowa and reinstated IF/OF Vidal Bruján from the 10-Day IL.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: After winning the starting third base job coming out of spring, Shaw struggled (.172/.294/.241 in 68 PA) and will now return to AAA for the time being. It remains to be seen how Chicago will replace Shaw, but the team has several options to choose from. In Shaw’s absence, Gage Workman drew the start at third base on Tuesday. Workman, a left-handed hitter, could have a chance to see a significant share of at-bats against right-handed pitching but is unlikely to factor in against left-handed starters. Jon Berti could also factor into the third base mix, particularly against left-handed...
