NEWS: Rangers RHP Max Scherzer is out for the season with a right teres major muscle strain. TEX recalled RHP Jonathan Hernández to replace Scherzer on the active roster.

IMPACT: High

BHQ SPIN: It’s possible—albeit unlikely—that Scherzer could return sometime during a potential playoff run, but fantasy GMs can count him out for the last 2-plus weeks of the regular year. LHP Andrew Heaney, who had just moved into the bullpen, seems the obvious choice to move back into the rotation to replace Scherzer. He’ll join lefthander Jordan Montgomery and righties Nate Eovaldi, Dane Dunning, and Jon Gray, while erstwhile starter Martin Pérez seems more likely to remain in the ‘pen, where he’s had some success...
