Trout making a splash, whither Bourjos?

When the Angels recalled uber-prospect Mike Trout (OF, LAA) from AAA-Salt Lake City on April 27, he was told he would be playing every day—and that he has.  After a 0-for-7 start, he’s hit .342 with six doubles and a couple of home runs in his next 34 AB.  It was also postulated that Trout’s presence could jeopardize both Vernon Wells’ (OF, LAA) and Peter Bourjos’ (OF, LAA) playing time.

Two weeks later, the loser here has clearly been Bourjos.  He’s appeared in only six games since Trout’s arrival—two of them as defensive replacements with no plate appearances—and has seen his BA drop to .196 (.250 OBP).  With known struggles in controlling the strike zone, Bourjos’ ct%...
