NEWS: Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy announced that RHP Chad Patrick will be in the starting rotation to start 2026.

BHQ SPIN: Perhaps a bit more off the cuff than some announcements of this type, Pat Murphy discussed with the media on March 6 that Patrick is a lock for the starting rotation. Patrick was in and out of the starting rotation in 2025 and performed well with a 3.53 ERA (4.10 xERA) and a 17% K-BB%. Coupled with the news that right wrist discomfort could affect RHP Quinn Priester’s Opening Day status and RHP Brandon Woodruff being slow-played into the season, it would seem that there could be a few openings behind RHP Jacob Misiorowski and Patrick.
