NEWS: Pittsburgh activated OF Ryan O'Hearn from the 10-day IL and placed SS Konnor Griffin (strained right elbow) on the 10-day IL. Separately, RHP Carmen Mlodzinski was placed on the restricted list.

BHQ SPIN: Griffin’s IL stint is a reprieve for Jhostynxon Garcia, who was likely ticketed for Triple-A with O’Hearn resuming his RF duties. Instead, Garcia continues to hold a bench spot, and Jared Triolo will slide into the SS role for at least the next 10 days. Indications are that Griffin’s IL stint should be close to the minimum length.
