NEWS: Arizona activated second baseman Ketel Marte from the 10-day IL.

BHQ SPIN: Marte missed nearly a month with a hamstring strain and will return to being the DBacks’ everyday second baseman. Outfielder Jorge Barrosa was optioned to the minors in a corresponding move after serving as the team’s fifth outfielder for over a week. Barrosa’s departure and Marte’s (+10% PT) return mean Tim Tawa will see a sharp decrease in PT. The 26-year-old rookie posted a 112 wRC+ but batted just .186 while filling in for Marte at second base, and will have a tough time cracking the lineup moving forward due to Marte’s status.
