Hoskins to tend 1B in Milwaukee

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Brewers
NEWS: Milwaukee signed 1B Rhys Hoskins to a 2-year $34 million contract. The contract includes an opt-out after 2024.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: First base was a position that lacked production for the Brewers in 2023, but that should now be solidified for 2024 with Hoskins on board. Hoskins was injured for all of 2023 after tearing his ACL during spring training, but prior to 2023, he was an established power bat with a discerning eye. He has never had a Power Index (PX) value less than 131 or a walk rate less than 11% in his career. This is a 30-HR bat, with a league average BA and while he has slightly below average speed, he could sneak in 5 or so stolen bases. 1B/OF Jake Bauers will likely see his playing time...
