NEWS: Seattle GM Justin Hollander announced that RHP George Kirby will likely start the season on the IL with shoulder inflammation.

BHQ SPIN: Not great news for the vaunted Mariners rotation to be without Kirby for the start of the season. Since joining the rotation in 2022, Kirby has excelled with ERAs in the low-to-mid threes along with a miniscule 3% walk rate. His 23% strikeout rate isn’t tops in the league by any means, but he is as reliable as they come and had never been on the major league injured list in his three seasons.
