Giants outfield infirmary creates opportunity

San Francisco Giants
NEWS: San Francisco placed outfielder Michael Conforto on the 10-day IL with a right hamstring strain.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: It’s been a tough week for the Giants as they’ve now placed five of their regulars on the IL (Tom  Murphy, Nick Ahmed, Austin Slater, and Jorge Soler) while only returning one of their injured players (Patrick Bailey) to the field. Conforto’s (-5% PT) strain is mild so he could rejoin the team after his 10-day stay on the IL is complete. Outfielder Luis Matos was recalled from the minors in a corresponding move. This will be his second stint on the major league roster this year. In the meantime, he’s slashed .218/.308/.355 with a trio of homers and steals at Triple-A.
