NEWS: Oakland activated second baseman Zack Gelof from the 10-day IL.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: After missing nearly three weeks with an oblique strain, Gelof returned to the lineup on Tuesday, batting sixth and playing second. He will reclaim his everyday role at the keystone position moving forward, displacing Abraham Toro. In the first game with Gelof (+5% PT) back, that shifted Toro to the hot corner and saw Brett Harris hit the bench. We’ll likely see Toro (+10%) and Harris (+5%) DH more often. To make room for Gelof, the A’s sent struggling outfielder Lawrence Butler to Triple-A.
