Flaherty signs with Detroit

NEWS: The Tigers have agreed to sign RHP Jack Flaherty to 2-year, $35M contract.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Jack Flaherty is set to return to the Detroit Tigers in 2025 after spending the first half of the 2024 season with the team. The right-hander was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers at the July trade deadline. Last season, Flaherty started 28 games for both the Dodgers and Tigers, posting a 3.17 ERA and 1.07 WHIP while striking out 194 batters in 162 innings. His success was fueled by a near 3% jump in SwK% and a 7% jump in K%.  Flaherty has never thrown back-to-back 160 IP seasons, but if health cooperates like last year he can definitely repeat; especially playing home games in Detroit.
