Estévez deepens Royals' bullpen

NEWS: Kansas City agreed to terms with RHP Carlos Estévez on a two-year, $20 million contract.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Kansas City shored up the back end of its bullpen with the addition of Estevez, who has recorded 57 saves in the last two seasons. While Estevez figures to play a prominent role, it remains to be seen what role that will be. Estevez may serve as the primary closer, allowing Lucas Erceg to take on high-leverage spots before the ninth inning, or he may split closing duties with Erceg based on matchups. For now, we are projecting Estevez to be on the larger side (65%) of a save split with Erceg (35%).
