NEWS: Arizona activated RHP Ryan Thompson from the 15-day IL and recalled OF Jorge Barrosa from the minors.

BHQ SPIN: Thompson spent nearly two months on the IL with a right shoulder scapular strain and will return to the Majors amid September roster expansion. Prior to the injury, Thompson produced a 4.45 ERA (32.1 IP), a 1.48 WHIP, and a 21.4% strikeout rate. A favorite of manager Torey Lovullo, Thompson (+1.5% PT) will likely factor into the ninth inning without any relievers with significant closing experience.
