NEWS: Chicago reached an agreement with RHP Mike Clevinger on a one-year, $12 million contract.

BHQ SPIN: We’ll have to wait and see how long it will take for Clevinger to be ready to join the rotation, currently starter-turned-reliever Garrett Crochet, Michael Soroka, Chris Flexen, Erick Fedde and Nick Nastrini. In 2023 with the Sox, Clevinger finished with a 3.77 ERA/4.98 xERA with 110 K/40 BB in 131.1 IP. He also missed time last season with wrist and biceps injuries. He currently is projected at about 130 IP, but that could be dialed down a bit depending on his schedule to return. The other variable will be who gets bumped from the rotation.
