NEWS: The Tigers activated OF Kerry Carpenter from the 10-day IL; 2B Gage Workman was optioned to AAA-Toledo in a corresponding move.

While the 28-year-old is expected to eventually reclaim his regular role in the corner outfield, Detroit is easing him back into action where he will serve strictly as the designated hitter.
