Alvarez out with knee sprain

NEWS: Yordan Alvarez will miss some time in the final week with a right knee sprain.

BHQ SPIN: The team announced that Alvarez will miss the series vs. Seattle after he was diagnosed with a sprained knee over the weekend. This likely opens up some time for Jason Heyward, as Houston’s Monday OF lineup of Heyward/Meyers/Tucker could stick for a few games (Jonathan Singleton was at DH). While the team will undoubtedly want Alvarez to stay sharp for the playoffs, they are also not likely to push things in their weekend series at Cleveland should the soreness continue to linger.
