DAILY MATCHUPS: Wright and Verlander headline Sunday

Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: Aside from an unusual 11:35am start time for the Athletics-Guardians game, it’s a fairly typical Sunday. Rain is possible in the northeast (Yankee Stadium, Citizens Bank Park, and Nationals Stadium), but the risk isn’t particularly high.

Notable Starts:

Justin Verlander had his first double-digit strikeout total of the season on Tuesday. He’s faced 20 or more batters in every start and has averaged just under six-and-two-thirds innings. While his stuff isn’t quite as lethal as past seasons, his craftiness as a pitcher has allowed him to remain relevant as an ace. The Marlins are moderately whiff-prone with a 23.6 percent strikeout rate.

Kyle Wright has pitched well in all but one of his 11 starts....
