DAILY MATCHUPS: Valdez looking to tame Tigers

Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: There are only nine games on the Monday schedule. First pitch will come at 1:10 p.m. ET, when the Marlins host the Rangers in the first game of a double header. Weather could impact the CHC@NYM game. 

 

Notable Starts:

Framber Valdez is rolling along with a PQS-DOM in six of his last eight starts. Back in May, his lone start versus the Tigers this season resulted in a PQS-3. The Tigers offense is averaging just 3.5 runs per game at home, where their .646 OPS is second worst in MLB. He is limiting left-handed batters to a measly .185 BA and .480 OPS.

José Berríos did not have much success is his only start versus the Rays this season as it resulted in a PQS-1. He isn't in the finest form coming into...
